Glorious Road to Nowhere

We’re told life’s a journey, a path with a goal,
A destination to anchor the soul.
But what if the purpose, the joy we hold dear,
Is found in the moment, not somewhere near?

The road to nowhere, a glorious track,
With no mapped-out future, no plans to look back.
Friendships that blossom without an aim,
Not bound to results, not tied to a game.

In calls with a friend every week or so,
No milestone awaits, no place we must go.
The laughter, the sharing, the presence we keep,
The journey itself is the treasure we reap.

Romance, too, can dance in this way,
Not chasing tomorrow, just savoring today.
No wedding bells needed, no boxes to tick,
Just joy in the moment, connection so thick.

Careers can align with this infinite road,
Not growth for its own sake or the heaviest load.
A life coach with clients, fifteen feels right,
Not chasing more dollars, just meaning each night.

But many are caught in a finite game,
Where goals define worth, where progress is fame.
Yet chasing the “next” leaves the “now” behind,
A cycle of longing, fulfillment confined.

Structures can help us to nurture this path,
To schedule, to savor, to share in the laugh.
For without these systems, roads fall away,
Forgotten by busyness that rules the day.

The key is to balance the finite and free,
To play the great game of infinity.
To treasure connections, let meaning take hold,
And see the small moments as riches of gold.

So walk on this road, with no end in sight,
Where each step is magic, each day is delight.
The glorious road to nowhere is clear—
A path full of presence, fulfillment, and cheer.
