How Do You Know That?

You said, “No one’s hiring”—is that a fact?
Or just a thought your fears enact?
Did you check the truth behind that claim,
Or let your mind just blindly aim?

When someone asks, “What’s that based on?”
It shines a light your mind might shun.
Is it true beyond your dread,
Or just a loop you’ve always said?

How do you know that? Stop and see—
What’s real, what’s thought, what’s make-believe?
Before belief becomes your trap,
Ask yourself, “How know you that?”

Epistemology starts right here—
Not in books, but thoughts we steer.
Katie’s questions strip things bare:
“Is it true, are you sure it’s there?”

Before you say what’s wrong or right,
Ask what lens gives you that sight.
All the rest—mind, art, or law—
Depend on what you think you saw.

A client says, “I had no choice.”
Let me ask, “Whose is that voice?”
Beliefs can pose as solid ground—
Until we test the way they sound.

How do you know that? Stop and see—
What’s real, what’s thought, what’s make-believe?
Before belief becomes your trap,
Ask yourself, “How know you that?”
