Quitaverance: Wisdom of Quitting

We praise the ones who fight and stay,
Who push through trials day by day.
But strength is more than standing tall—
It’s knowing when to quit at all.

Not every road will lead to gold,
Not every hand is one to hold.
To walk away, to shift, to bend,
Can be the wisest way to end.

A war prolonged, a love turned cold,
A dream once bright but now feels old—
Why stay to suffer, bound by fear,
When freedom’s call is ringing clear?

The gambler folds, the dancer sways,
The artist learns to change their ways.
To stop, to turn, to start anew—
Takes courage just as strong and true.

We cherish vows and words once spoken,
But not all chains are worth unbroken.
When promises bring only pain,
Why fight to lose, why chase in vain?

The world will praise the one who tries,
Who stays the course and never cries.
Yet wisdom knows another way—
To leave, to heal, to not delay.

For when one door is closed and barred,
Another opens, not so far.
And what was lost, let go, released,
May be the path to inner peace.

So here’s to those who dare to quit,

Who trade the chains for paths well-lit.

For letting go, with head held high,

Can be the way we learn to fly.
