Righteousness Trap

We see the world through tinted glass,
Believing our judgment is unsurpassed.
In every clash, within, without
We stand so sure, so free of doubt.

We blame the other, point and accuse,
Or blaming ourselves, with guilt we lose.
A cycle spins, so hard to break,
Fueled by judgments we often make.

The righteousness trap, so deep, so wide,
Hiding the truth and feeding our pride.
By letting it go and stepping aside,
A clearer path will open wide.

The mind distorts, it twists, it skews,
It paints the world in biased hues.
A hundred tricks, the brain misleads,
But none so strong as righteous needs.

We crave the feeling, the rush, the high,
Of knowing we're right—though it's a lie.
For truth is vast, not ours to claim,
Yet still, we fan the judgment’s flame.

The righteousness trap, so deep, so wide,
Hiding the truth and feeding our pride.
By letting it go and stepping aside,
A clearer path will open wide.

But what if we chose to pause, reflect,
To question the need to judge, protect?
What if we saw with open eyes,
Beyond the bias, beyond the guise?

No need to blame, no need to fight,
No need to prove we own the light.
For freedom comes when we can see,
That truth requires humility.

The righteousness trap, so deep, so wide,
Hiding the truth and feeding our pride.
By letting it go and stepping aside,
A clearer path will open wide.

I got it!
