Two Problems, One Path

All your woes, both great and small,
Are traced to conflicts that rule them all.
Two battles rage, both old yet new:
The fight of Now or Later, and Me or You.

In the realm of hearts where choices dwell,
“Who wins the day?,” the tale we tell.
To give to others, or take for me?
This tug-of-war defines humanity.

Altruism glows with a saintly light,
Sacrifice painted as noble and right.
Yet selfish desire is demonized,
A whispered vice, though oft disguised.

In every bond—be it friend or foe—
This balance sways, to and fro.
If we could seek what’s fair and true,
Perhaps there’s room for both Me and You.

Then there’s the fight that time defines,
Where pleasure and patience intertwine.
Now calls loud, with its siren’s song,
“Feel good this moment; don’t wait too long!”

But Later whispers, steady and wise,
“Build your future, let goals arise.”
Hard work, discipline, saving for dreams—
These are the virtues that garner esteem.

Yet Now is human; it craves and feels,
While Later trades in far-off ideals.
To thrive, we must find harmony’s tune,
Where both can bask beneath the moon.

These conflicts fuel the wars we see,
Between ourselves and humanity.
From family feuds to battles of nations,
Each stems from these two constellations.

When Me and You clash, the pain is clear,
But Now and Later breed equal fear.
Our history speaks of endless strife,
Yet resolution could change this life.

Finding now a different way,
Where both could win, come what may?
Both Now and Later, both Me and You,
Forging alliances fresh and new.

Courage is key to bridge the divide,
To see all angles, set pride aside.
When choices loom, and the conflicts are near,
Dare to ask: can all thrive here?

Through balance, the heartache might subside,
And together we’ll walk, side by side.
For life’s two problems, though hard to see,
May just hold the key to unity.
